The name PAHrtners is pronounced “partners” when voiced. The ASL sign “PAH” means
“finally, at long last, an answer to a prayer, success.” Too often, the individuals and the families we serve struggled for years to find
a provider that used American Sign Language (ASL), provided wrap-around services, and really understood their unique needs and struggles. When PAHrtners was created in 2001 the community we serve “finally” had a provider, “their prayers had been answered,” and “success” was possible. The name PAHrtners reflects who we are and our goal of partnering with the Deaf community, and their families, to meet their needs.

At long last, comprehensive mental and behavioral health services are available to the Deaf community, in their language, and embedded in their culture. PAHrtners supports people to make decisions, attain life goals,
build relationships, and participate in community life. We strive to combat the lack of choices in treatment and the social isolation frequently faced by our clientele. We provide resources and opportunities as we believe self-determination and interdependence can be achieved by all.

Located in Pennsylvania, PAHrtners was founded to overcome the barriers Deaf and Hard of Hearing people frequently encounter when trying to access behavioral health services. Through the expertise provided by our
highly-trained team of staff members we are able to provide a variety of services, from out-patient care to residential services. Our team members are predominately Deaf, Late-Deafened, or Hard of Hearing. As such,
they are skilled in adapting to a wide-range of communication modalities.

Several of our programs are CARF accredited: the Partial Hospitalization Program, the Outpatient Program, and the Residential Treatment Center for adolescents.
